What is CARES Funding?
CARES is a public funding project announced by Scottish Government to support the community for shifting towards renewable energy. Under this project, the funding is available for wind and solar photovoltaic projects. Community Energy Generation Growth Fund is available for such renewable energy projects.

Who can avail funding?
CARES funding is a support for communities from the government after meeting the criteria. You need to submit a project plan, your demand and explain the space available for these projects. Once your criteria met the requirement, you will be selected for the funding. The criteria should be met by the applicants as this funding will only be given before the end of February 2026.
Criteria include: installation of more than 50kW renewable energy which can be install on one place or more than place.
After the installation, the applicant must be able to generate electricity and it can also sell additional electricity to national grid or sell it to local energy user.
