What is SME loan Scheme?
The SME Loan Scheme is offered by Scottish Government to support small and medium business to move towards renewable energy. The step was taken by government to enhance the support for renewable energy which will promote Government’s vision of zero emission in the country.
How much loan is available?
As per this SME Loan Scheme, loans upto £100k can be availed by the small and medium business. This will not help them in saving energy cost but also reducing carbon emission. This scheme will also help you to get a cashback of £30k.
What is eligibility criteria for SME Loan Scheme?
For becoming eligible to this SME Loan Scheme, one must adopt some measure which including upgrading heating and air conditioner, using of air source heat pump, improving insulation, installation of LED lights and solar based turbine and boilers.
Businesses, non profit organization charities which fall under Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) can avail this loan.
For availing this loan the business must be owned less than 25% by any enterprises or it must have less than 25 % holding.
How to get cashback grant?
Getting cashback rant is another supportive program of Scottish Government. Any SME which has installed equipment as per eligibility criteria can recive the cashback of upto £30,000. Similarly, you can get the 75% of total spent cost in the cashback which have established energy efficiency measures. Those who have setup renewable hat measures can avail upto 75% cost which makes upto £10,000.
The process of loan approval usually takes upto 10 working days and cashback grant will be awarded once the project is completed.
