What is home improvement scheme?

Now you don’t need bank loan for upgrading the energy efficiency of your home. Home Energy Scotland grants and interest-free loans for individuals to meet energy efficiency requirements.
These schemes cover various energy improvements, helping you  reduce both carbon footprint and energy bills. Funds are available on first-come, first-served basis.

Why Scotland govt is funding home upgradation?

Realising the fact, the Scotland government has decided to provide energy efficiency grants to citizens. The government measures where help individuals to save their money, they also reduces national energy export bill.

Who is eligible?

You can apply for the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme if your property is located in Scotland.
You are eligible: if you are a homeowner, you are constructing your home or you rent a home.
Be quick to secure the grant if you have started building home because the deadline for builders is fast approaching. You would lose the right to apply after August 1, 2024.

Grant/Loan details

Home Energy Scotland provides following grants and interest free loan to home owners and renters

  1.  Air-source heat pump grant £7,500, loan £7,500
  2. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) grant £1250, loan £4,750
  3. Heat or electric batteries (energy storage systems) grant £1,250, loan 4,750.
  4. Solid wall insulation (external and internal) grant £7,500, loan £2,500
  5. Flat roof or room-in-roof insulation grant £3,000, loan £1,000
  6. Loft, cavity and underfloor insulation grant £1,500, loan £500
  7. Insulated doors loan £4,500
