Frequently Asked Questions

Grant funding is available for a variety of measures, including insulation, solar panels (and batteries), heat pumps, and new boilers. This funding is free and does not need to be repaid. The grants are designed to help households reduce their energy consumption, lower their bills, and decrease their carbon footprints.

Several schemes provide grant assistance to enhance the energy efficiency of homes. ECO4, LA Flex, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, and the Great British Insulation Scheme are just a few of the avenues through which funding can be obtained for eco-friendly home improvements.

You may apply for a grant if you live in a property that is costly to heat, or if you or someone living with you is vulnerable to cold. Funding may be available if you belong to a vulnerable household and receive at least one of the following benefits:

  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income Support (IS)
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)
  • Child Tax Credits (CTC)
  • Universal Credit (UC)
  • Housing Benefit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit (new eligible benefit under ECO4)

Additionally, low-income households and those with homes rated low in energy efficiency (EPC ratings) may also be eligible. This marks a shift from previous schemes, where only those receiving government benefits were often considered for funding.

Grants may not always cover the entire cost of installation, so in some cases, you might be expected to contribute. For lower-cost measures, such as loft insulation and some boilers, it is likely that the grant will cover the full installation cost. However, for more expensive measures like solar PV systems and heat pumps, the grant may only partially cover the costs.

Even if you don’t qualify for a grant that covers the full installation cost, it’s still worth applying, as the grant can significantly reduce your expenses. Additionally, we may be able to offer generous discounts to further help with costs.
